I agree that article marketing isn't really dead. But it's not as powerful as it was a few years ago. I think it can be powerful to send traffic from people who use the article directories to search for information.

But remember to use the PDF directories as well. Some that I like to use are:
* Scribd
* Issuu
* SlideShare

There are MANY more of course. The nice thing is you can include links easily inside the PDF document.

Yes, i am totally agreed with you. The backlinks in articles are helpful for high ranking on search engines. Also Articles are the great resource of getting high traffics. So, Article marketing cannot be dead anymore.

I don't think Article marketing is dead, yes we can say that it has been optimized more as previous we used to submit one article on many site but now we can't do this after google panda update. Article marketing is good but only on one or two good sites.
