    Supplemental hoplink tracking!
    2007-05-01 -

ClickBank is pleased to announce improvements to our hoplink tracking. Tracking hoplinks and affiliate credit with cookies is 100% accurate in the vast majority of cases. For some percentage of customers, however, cookies do not work for tracking. In these rare instances, customers either have cookies turned off in their browser, have utilized new browser security and/or privacy parameters, or have other software installed on their computer that prevents ClickBank from setting a cookie at all. We have developed a new technology that will accurately track hoplinks and award correct affiliate credit for most instances where cookies are not set. This new technology works hand-in-hand with our current cookie-tracking system to ensure proper credit is awarded to referring affiliates.

Yeah was just looking at that and testing and checked to see if forums had something on it yet. Anyone else done any testing?

Not sure if it's actually been implemented yet or not, but my sales the last 4 days have been at a 300% increase or so over the last two weeks of sales. Definitely some good news.

Me too. My sales since the first were phenomenal. And here I was thinking it was all due to my mad skills.

Heh, that's pretty sweet. And I was wondering why my percentage of referred sales went up recently. Guess now I know. That's great news.

Based on my quick tests -- IT DOES.

I just did a couple of tests on a browser with cookies blocked, one hop link with a TID, and one without. Both times my affiliate ID was set at the check out page (including the TID).

    I'm pretty impressed ....

I have checked hoplink tracking in different interent explorer settings and the tracking is perfect
I have also checked after enabling privacy and antispyware sofware like spybot search and destroy ( that were previously blocking clickbank cookies ). Hoplink tracking is still perfect.

This is what all clickbank affiliates are eagerly waiting for.

    Default kaspersky

Here are my recent stats (as an affiliate):

On two popular products, I've had 0 sales during the last 8 days of April, 2007 (I got 1-2 a day ave.).

Last 2 days alone, I've had 3 sales already. Of a PPC cost of only $5.50, those 3 sales gave me a gross of $78.40, conversions at less than 20 a click so far.

Thank you Clickbank. Our prayers have been answered. This is one of the best news of my life ever! At last, non-cookie tracking (most probably IP-based).

Guys, has anyone tried it on Kaspersky (currently ranked no. 2 antivirus by CNET). Last time, I tested, Kaspersky would block any site with the mere mention of Clickbank on the hoplink or on the page itself.

Forget spybot, this may be a stronger threat.

    GOD Bless..

My thoughts exactly. All this CB garbage opened my eyes to CPA, and I'm not closing them again. But CB is still CB (as long as it works).

They most likely implemented I.P. tracking (something I had programmed into our shopping cart for our jewelry business FOUR years ago).

At any rate - it's nice to see more than just cosmetic changes going on.

it might be IP tracking, but it might also include taking a fingerprint of the browser software and information your PC offers up too.

of course, if this improvement was responsible for seeing twice as many sales or some ridiculous number like that it would mean that cookie tracking was less than 50 percent reliable, which does not sound very likely.

of course, if you are trying to sell better versions of antivirus software, there's a good chance the consumer already has something that is blocking your CB cookie and is denying your commission. so the improved tracking might help out more when promoting some products than others.

I haven't seen any increase in conversion rate over the last 2 weeks. That's from 3000 clicks a day.

This is great news. I knew clickbank wouldn't let this carry on forever. Clickbank is still #1 and killing the competition.

Great news... Just when it seemed like CB was done, they go and pull this out of their hat... just in the nick of time really
