You can write articles with affiliate links in them and submit them to directories or post ads on free classifieds sites, the cheapest option.
You can learn how to make websites and optimize them for search engines, then write lots of content and add affiliate links or adsense. This can make good money but takes a while to get going.
You can write an ebook on some popular subject you know about and sell it on your website - good if you hit the right unsaturated niche.
Or you can promote affiliate programs with paid search services such as adwords. This is fast and can make lots of money, but you can also lose significant money learning it.
Or you can think of something that lots of people aren't already doing - the best option but also the hardest!

As others have said article marketing and classifieds are a great way to get started with out a lot of money.
Be sure to do your home work on keywords.
If you use keyword phrases that are more specific you'll have better luck
Overture has a free keyword tool to help.
When you find your keyword phrases that are 3 to 4 words long type it into a search using google. Then surround the phrase with quotes "keywordphrase"
Like this: how to train a bull dog competing google results 5,420,000
Then like this: "how to train a bull dog" competiting google results 5
See the huge differene?
If you were selling this product it is very specific with litte actual competition

Piece of advice...HOLD on to your wallet (or credit card, for that matter)!
Start your netbiz education with "FREE" resources via forums/blogs/free courses...
Maximize search engine results...type: free "whatever topic" resources and
start learning (replace "whatever topic" with email, adwords, autoresponder
or anything related to netbiz that you want to know about and choose & pick
your education!

To get you started, and so you won't have to build a web site, go to www.clickbank.com. They are the number one program on the Internet. You will want to sell the products, Rich Jerk, Prophet Monster, and Google Cash. These will pay you over thirty dollars a pop in commission.
To advertise these products, I recommend you use www.trafficswarm.com and www.instantbuzz.com and www.topsurfer.com. These are wonderful traffic exchanges that will bring you a lot of traffic. Furthermore, write press releases. To find sites on where to submit for free, go to google and type in the search bar "free sites for submitting press releases". You will get a ton of results. I hope that will be good enough for now. I don't want to give you information overload. Start with these for now. If you need help later, don't hesitate to drop me a line. Good luck! Internet marketing is a wonderful journey. There are some bumps and bends along the way. Just don't give up.
