When you ask a question like that, expect to receive many conflicting answers. It's kind of like asking "What is the best religion?" or "What is the best restaurant to eat at?".

I've installed and tried out alot of CMS's, but the two I've used extensively are Mambo and TYPO3. Mambo is good for beginners and allows someone to get a nice looking site up quickly. In my opinion, it has many shortcomings.

TYPO3 isn't newbie friendly on the administration end, but I haven't encountered anything that I could not do with TYPO3.

There's a fine site that let's you try out just about every open source CMS out there:

http://www.opensourcecms.com/

They have them all installed, so you can log in and try out the features of each one.

Nice find Mojo.

Cricketchamps, what do you think? I know that you've tried PHPNuke or some variation of it.

I also think phpnuke is far better than anyone and many people also have the same opinion on this
