Here is my problem with clickbank. I really don't have any problem writing goods ads or getting sales.
My problem is making profit. I might make 7 sales. Those 7 sales might end up making me $140.
But the problem is I'll end up spending $130 in adwords costs.
The reason for this I don't how you guys are coming up with those .07 to .10 keywords. I've had to spend .20 to .30 cents to find any keywords that work.
Also it's seems any keyword I put into adwords that's less than .20 is automatically being listed as inactive.
I'm using tools like adwords analyzer to help find my keywords.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I was hoping some adwords experts would pipe in on this. Most protect there keyword list, As this is the KEY to making profits. I make money on the other end. the more you pay for keyword the more I get for keywords :innocent: .
But I won't steer you wrong. If your turning a profit with adwords, buy all means do my advice in addition. You need MORE(quantity) targeted keyword phrases.
From keywordcents.com , "With a product like this go with; state names, state abbreviations, cities and states. Also auto auction TX is only $0.05 a click. While Auto auction WA is $0.62. WA get's twice as much traffic and for that your paying 12 times as much. Look for the less popular states and cites."
Try boats, Farm equipment, etc. Also try overture they are always about 1/10 of the price.

Hey Goldbar25
Adrian is right, is alll about quanitity. I have like over 200 phrases in my adword account, most of them not that popular, but I;m not paying anymore than 10 cents a click.

Ihave over 600 keyword phrases in my ads. Not one of them over 10 cents a pop. The impressions are low but the click through and conversions are high. If you build it they will come.

On my most successful campaigns I have at least 1,000 keywords in at least 3 ad groups. Most of them come from either keyword tools, google/yahoo sandbox tools, or my own research. It just takes some creativity to find cheap words, but it's not that hard once you "get the hang of it". My average CPC usually hovers around .15 to .20 per click. It's not exceptionally good and I'm sure there's marketers that do better. But my ROI is still very high because I sell products that have higher price points, and before you send traffic anymore, what you need to look at is how well it converts (ratio of clicks to orders) and what the commission is per order. Multiply the commission (ex. $30) by the ratio (ex. 1:20) 5% and you have a cost-per-acquisition of $1.50. This is your break even point.
Hope that helps.

Hey,
Yeah Mrosson has the right idea. I never bid more than about .12 cents max cpc. I just go for less popular keywords with less traffic, but in greater numbers. This allows me to have some more control over the different keyword "niches." Hope this helps.

I do what mrosson does. Each product is different. I can't say that all I'm going to pay is a maximum of 12 cents a click accross all of my Campaigns. Each product has a different conversion rate. I can afford a higher CPC with some products. Once I know how well a product converts for ME, then I know how much I am willing to spend per click. We both could be promoting the same product and have very different conversion rates. It depends on what keywords we use, how well they are targeted, etc, etc. But one thing that I never do is get into a bidding war. I never chase Googles minimum bid prices just to get my keywords activated. I have my maximum price and my keywords. If my maximum CPC is 20 cents and Google wants 30 cents for a bunch of those keywords, then those keywords do not run until Google sees it my way. This is a business. Google is trying to make as much as they can. But so am I. It is surprising at how many keywords are now active that were once inactive and I never messed with my Cost Per Clicks.

I have begun a new strategy.... I have taken my campaigns that have over 600 keywords and run them for a month. Then I have suspended all of the non or poor converting keywords. I want to see how my cost per conversion works out. I'll keep you posted.
