Ok, im slowly but surely starting to learn how things kinda work... Ive only been here for 2 weeks, but ive learned alot since then...
But I am still slightly confused on the website thing, so can you guys PLEASE help me figure it out...
Ok, so say I just paid for web hosting. I have 100 gb storage, and 1000 gb bandwith. I dont have a domain, but I have the money for ONE domain name.
I dont know what MySQL or PHP is, but I made sure the host had it.
I know how adsense and adwords works, the basics at least...
I have a clickbank account and know how that works...
Ive just opened a checking account to make sure im covered...
I have a paypal sellers account.
I know the basic workings of a website, and with some patience and practice, i could probably pump out a not so bad website...
Im already doing the bum marketing methods, but havent made any money yet...
Now what?
What do I do with all of this to make money? This is where im lost...
Do I just create a website about whatever I want to, do some SEO, fill it with information, fill the info with keywords, throw a few affiliate links in there, pay a few bucks a day for adwords, and throw adsense on the side, then hope all goes well?
Just help me get this right in my head so I can get over this slump...

No one?
Be patient.
You really need to spend your time learning because it appears you are trying to set sail without a destination. You need a plan first, then comes webhosting, etc. Don't just start doing stuff, make some kind of plan and follow it. :)

lol... I know.
Your totally right... I just hate when I wonder something and I cant figure out the answer.
But ive been slowly accumulating software and information to help me out, and now I want to tinker... Thats how I learn things the best, by people directly explaining how to do it, or by playing with it and seeing how it works.
I just need a few more questions answered before I feel I can go tinker, and play with things... I just dont want to spend time figuring out how one thing works, if it isnt what I need to learn, ya know?

Hello,
Just do it, you will learn a lot just by jumping in and doing it. You can educate yourself and ask questions as you do different things first. That is how I started out, I still don't know everything but at least you will get a feel for what you want with the site.
As far as the affiliate marketing, you can get started with that without having a website. As the bum marketing suggests, sure a website helps but you don't need one right away. I would suggues working on some ads and articles that are related to some affiliate programs from clickbank and just get started with that first as you tinker around a bit. good luck

Hi Phre0nBurn,
Here are a few suggestions...
Before you pick a direction you need to have a clear idea about your options.
If you decided to go for affiliate site, remember that here the conversion must happen twice: first time your visitors need to be interested enough to click through to your affiliate product/service site and that site needs to convert people who came from you into buyers so you get your commission.
Therefore when you choose a site to promote product from, make sure it converts good or all your efforts and marketing dollars will do down the drain.
The higher commissions you get the more expensive the product/service is. High commissions are great but people tend to not buy an expensive product from their first visit. They will probably do some comparison, think about the purchase for a while, may be wait till they can afford it etc. So you have to 1) choose a site to affiliate with that has a cookie that will "remember" your leads for a long time; 2) try and get your visitors' contact info through opt-in list, build a long term trustful relationship with your audience so they will want to rely on your expertise and buy following your links.
I believe that anything starting above maybe $50 will take longer to sell. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Of course it greatly depends on your target audience. If you target higher income visitors, the amount might be much higher.
But the pluses are: you don't need to have your own product, you do not need to go into all the technical details and financial expenses setting up e-commerce, deal with returns etc.
If you don't have a web site yet, I'd suggest to start with a blog. You can set one up really quick and for free for example - www.blogger.com (free, hosted). You can even have AdSence added to your blog posts. Later when you have a business web site your blog will be a great addition to it.
Anyway, some food for thoughts. Hope it helps :-)

Hi mate, why do you have so much Bandwidth-1000GB. I am not sure you need that ever in mainstream :) I mean i would better go with less BW but better uptime, coz if you went with one of those 9 bucks for 1000GB host you might have downtimes, which is not so good :)
