Remember that you can set your ad to show in various territories/countries. Often, people only add the most common ones and don't give it much though. Don't limit your ad exposure only to popular english speaking countries such as the US, UK, and Australia. The more people see your ad, the bigger the chance for a sale.
English is either an official language or is spoken by a significant portion of the population in the following countries.
• Antigua and Barbuda

looks good , i would like to add little more to it ..
india have about 50-60 million internet users(growing at rate of 20-30%) a year . atleast 10% of them are earning over $1000 a month and able to spend atleast $200 per month on shopping etc ...
so if you got good quality you could make some good number of sales ...
reason is india has much more internet users than any of the above listed country and GDP growing at rate of 9% a year . and peoples love to buy from foreign countries as its status symbol to buy from another countries ..
Also SEO competition is quite low and traffic from adwords is quite cheap like 3 cents a click .

Of course not, I don't either, but some of those I wouldn't normally think of. I figured if it helped me it could help some noobs think more broadly as well (while, of course, targetting! lol)

What I find so silly is the internet is an international communication devise. Therefore, you may be a US citizen but because you are sitting in the middle of the Amazon, the adds will not show to you. With laptops, you no longer need to be in your home country to surf the net.

People lose out a lot on Canada sales though by just thinking US, UK. I was doing that for my site (evne though I'm Canadian).

Nah that's not bad. If you wish to promote your product world-wide, then that's the thing to do. If you choose to go specifically with english speaking countries, than I was just posting a reminder that there's more english speaking countries out there than just, say, the UK and US.

for internet penetration.
Approximately 69% of Canadian are online. Huge!
The other benefit is that Canadians and Americans share more than just a border. Canada has wealth and more and more people are shopping online for goods and services. It is not uncommon for Canadians to get online and do some shopping at Macy.com or at Buy.com for their needs. Even with all the border regulations and clearance fees, Canadians still like to buy from the good ol' USA. With all the oil money they are generating they have to spend it somewhere and why not spend it where the shopping is best!

Depends what you're pushing. If you have downloadable stuff then you can be a little more open. For me, I use merchants that sell products and most don't ship out of the U.S. So my ads are only going to show for that.

I know we are discussing officially English speaking countries but it isalso worth remembering that Scandinavian countries like Denmark, Norway and Sweden and countries like the Netherlands and Finland have many English Speaking people and ar very used to shopping online.
