What software do you use for your image editing/photo editing/graphic creation?

Some popular ones are fireworks, photoshop and for vector images flash.

I've used all three. What do you use primarily.

Photoshop is what I learnt to design on.. and I don't think I know all of it's secrets yet :)

I use Fireworks. I've used Photoshop in the past, but it's a bit overkill for most of what I do. I prefer Fireworks.

Well Adobe softwares is the best for these jobs although its hard to learn. What you people say, I am asking about Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Firworks and stuff.

Yes, I agree Photoshop sometimes is too bloated with "fancy" functions that are never used...
I still love it's simplicity and user-friendly interface :) Flash 8.0 Pro is also one of my favourites.

HEy! Anyone can tell seriously what's the best way to learn Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks. How much time it will take and lots of things.

I am bored to .... I want to learn these softwares now and I think it will be great to learn and then use it for enhancing my pics that I have taken and will catch from my canon digital camera.

I hope anyone can seriously help . Thanks :)

I would try your local library, they often have good books, look out for I really good series called “in easy steps”, they started me off with java and php, and since then I’ve never looked back.

I'm a fan of Fireworks at work, just because they bought it for me. I have Photoshop as well, but the interfaces and tweaking of images in PhotoShop can be overkill for quick and dirty images. At home, I use GIMP. It's open source and the as flexible as Fireworks.

Photoshop & Fireworks can be expensive. If you're on a budget, or just a cheap ass (like me) you can use Pixel Image Editor. It has all of the features of photoshop at 1/18th the cost :) He has versions for Windows, Mac, Linux, DOS, Ecommstation, BeOS, FreeBSD, and more.

Photoshop is great but it has it's limitations. If you want to do pure graphics you might be better using Adobe Illustrator which is much more versatile.

I generally stick with Photoshop, unless a project requires the use of something not available in Photoshop. Then I don't have much choice. :innocent:

I love Photoshop!!! It's been my partner in Graphics design since 2002.Alhought it requires high end computer, the compensation is good, he effects, filtes and enhancements you can apply to your design is really good. For vector-based graphics, i used Corel Draw though am still practicing on Adobe Illustrator.

For complicated graphic alterations I use the Gimp but for simple text-in or conversions I use another free little File-Viewer and Editor called Irfanview. It really does a lot and is not ram intensive at all!
