ok, so i had a couple bounces yesterday which is fine. but when i look to see the sale in my orders it's not there which would also be fine but dont they take out bounces from your check also? if we are not credited for a sale but are deducted for a bounce, that is not right. maybe i'm missing something here.

Knowing clickbank they probably just rip you off. I mean, look at the friggin "allowance" BS for example; that is the biggest rip I have ever seen.

They take all the refunds out of your check AND they pull the bullshit with the "allowance", which they basically claim is a way to insure that they get thier money for refunds in the future. I wouldn't bitch about it so much if it wasn't for the fact that they take friggin 10%, no matter HOW little your refunds are, etc. And on top of that it takes 3 damn months to get it back.

OK I'm done bitching now :)

I hear you about the 10% allowance, but try and think about it from Clickbank's point of view. Some products with very high refund rates get sold in very high volumes. If they were to pay out without taking an allowance, it is very likely that in a small number of accounts that Clickbank would end up having to chase after money that is owed to them when refunds put someone's entire accont in the red.

If you were Clickbank, would you take a chance on letting that happen?

I agree that the 10% across the board for three months
seems a little excessive. IMHO if there weren't as many
hyped-up programs with decepitive ad copy, (i.e. online
surveys and such) the necessity for the allowance would
be greatly reduced.

I am hoping that the abbreviated refund period to 45 days
and their building a blacklist of repeat refund requesters
will lead to a re-evaluation of their allowance policies, and
possibly develop an allowance program that is more custom
to each vendor/affiliate.

I don't mind the allowance personally, as it is money in the
bank really as my refund rate is below 2%. (knock wood!)

What's worse though is that they hold a 10% allowance on the released allowance. (!!!)

I was checking up on one of my old clickbank accounts. I earned $20 in credits, no debits or bonuses, and had $80 released to me. The paycheck should have been $98, right? But it was actually only $90. Bastards..

They add the allowance back in from 6 pay periods ago and then deduct their 10% allowance! They should take their 10% allowance off and then add the allowance back in from 6 pay periods ago.

Reminds me of the Fucking government!! They like to put a tax on a tax! :finger:

Q........you are dead on with your analysis.

One of my biggest issues is the double tax on dividends in the US. Thankfully this looks like it is going to be resolved for good.

Back to the original poster's topic -- is there any legal action that can be taken to collect money lost to bounced electronic checks? I'm not sure that I want to disable that feature entirely because some people like it, but last month alone I lost nearly $3,000 due to bounced checks!

That is ridiculous. There has to be some sort of way to get some of that money.

I decided to disable the option to pay by electronic check. I have seen no decrease in sales due to this.

I'm also going to mention in the FAQs that if they want to pay by electronic check, they can use PayPal's system -- if PayPal doesn't get the money from their bank account, they'll charge your credit card -- and if you're sending a payment, and you're not already a PayPal member, they ask for both. So that eliminates the check bouncing problem. :)
