Hi People,
Great Forum, lots of useful advice.
I was wondering as an affiliate what is the most effective way if any to track how many clicks are going to a certain vendors site (and converting if possible) or what sales adwords are generating (this is asuming the vendor doesn't provide tracking).
At the moment I think I'm promoting stuff blindly not really knowing what's working and what's not.
Any advice appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Terry!
If you are using Adwords then you can use their tracking. Ask the vendor for assistance in setting it up if they don't currently offer it.

Hi Terry,
Forget about Google Tracking. The accuracy is terrible!
Here is the solution to all of your tracking problems forever, and it's 100% accurate.

Are you fucking kidding me? No third party tracking system can "solve all of your tracking problems forever".
I, along with the rest of the long time members on this forum, am getting very tired of your inaccurate statements about members on this forum as well as these "products" that you so tout so highly. Because guess what? The only one touting them so highly is you!!
While you may get money from naive marketers, you certainly won't gain any respect from the veterans here on Ewealth. In fact, you should be banned for your nonsense and hypocrisy.
By the way, if you have a problem with me, why don't you send me a PM. I don't think anyone wants this forum littered with this garbage. You remind me a lot of wpgcoder.

I'm hoping to find a one stop solution as I do use adwords but I also have a few affiliate sites that don't utilize adwords but I would still like to know how much traffic I am sending the vendors and which of my sites are actually converting into sales.
I have asked some vendors to install codes on their thank you pages but I never hear back from them, I guess because I'm not some big time affiliate sending thousands of dollars there way.
Gotrythis.com looks o.k but theres no way I can afford that at this stage, it would equate to almost $400 in my currency which is a decent chunk of change to me.
Does any body else have their own solutions?

I wouldn't use that solution personally, it's unproven, never heard of it, and it's packaged with a bunch of other crap.
I honestly would try Google Adwords tracking, it's free, it works with Adwords. Keep contacting your vendors! If they don't respond tell them you'll find others, and there ARE others.
Best of Luck!

Thank God for you Mrosson...Thank you for speaking up...I am very familiar with gotrythis ...and it will not do jack to track clickbank sales...
This IMO is what gives affiliate marketing a black eye...some don't know WTH they are talking about...and have no problem recommending something they either...have never used...researched...or know anything about...
Gotrythis is an expensive piece of software...
sha1888...what are you going to tell this guy when he buys your software on your recommendation and can't track his clickbank sales?...
Oh sorry?
or do you just not care as long as you get your commission?
I don't know...I try to have faith in people...I sure would like to believe that you just don't know WTH you are talking about...
You need to understand, if that is the case, people may buy on your recommendation...and like mrosson said...it is going to be the inexperienced and people that can not afford to lose their money...
I think it is a deplorable situation to recommend something you don't know about anywhere...but to do it on a forum...where we are all trying to help each other...totally sucks...
I am sure most people have figured out that Miles gives good advice...and I have not found anything other than what Miles recommends for tracking CB products that works better...
Use Google or Yahoo conversion code...and get it put on the merchant thank you page...
Second best...but way from perfect...is opening several CB accounts...
Rant...complete...

Exactly, Travis, thank you :)
Marketers like sha1888 just give this industry a bad name.
