Hey everybody, I've seen several websites (internet marketing) where one on their sale page one of the bullets is "The best place to put your affiliate page link to attract the most affiliates" and I'm curious, what are your opinions on this? Traditional on the bottom of the page with all the rest of the links, on the top right of your page, where do you feel it would be best?

I would personally never promote a program which had it at the top. IMHO, the best option is to make it tiny and put it to the bottom because:
1) When an affiliate wants to promote your program, he WILL find that link no matter where it is
2) At the top it would more likely be noticed by assholes who replace affiliate links with their own IDs => affiliates would stop promoting your program because of too many commision thefts

Ok, I've heard about all this stealing commissions, replacing hoplinks, etc., but how do they actually do that? I mean don't they have to like hack my hosting server, download my webpage, edit the link, and upload again w/ their link?

Yeah, most of people definately know how to hack a server
Nah man, it's like this:
1) They see a link which points to original_affiliate_id.vendor_id.hop.clickbank.net
2) They type this to the address bar: their_affiliate_id.vendor_id.hop.clickbank.net
3) They get the commision on the sale
That's it.

P.S.: That idea with hacking and replacing is cool. Maybe I should hack some of the Rich Jerk's million dollar affiliate sites

Haha, yeah it does sound nice. What are the chances, though, of a person buying the product being a ClickBank affiliate? And why wouldn't he(/she) just buy it from their own link in the first place?

Huge. A LOT of people know ClickBank these days.
And I don't quite understand your second question; please clarify.

Why wouldn't they just go through the catelog, pick out something they like, and put in their hoplink and purchase?

Because buying that way sux. ALL sales letters are full of HYPE and SHIT. They NEVER tell you the truth.
And people aren't looking for products anyway. They want information. They want someone to give them good information regarding their problem, and then MAYBE recommend a product they personally like/use.

If you are marketing to affiliates, commision stealing as major. If you are marketing to teens, it is tiny....

I'm not marketing to either. Just people interested in my product, if that includes teenagers with debit cards or those that use their parents card without their permission :D. Jk

Hide it, I'll find it... put it on the contact page...Tiny little links at the bottom aren't too bad, although they seem right out there to me because I'm looking for them...Just please! For the love of God!, don't make a big box that says AFFILIATES EARN 75%.. what is that??? A coupon?
