Besides PPC, what do you feel are the best ways to get traffic to a website?

Giving people something that they want, something valuable, such as relevant, pertinent information. If you have valuable information, products, services, etc. you won't need to go searching for traffic, traffic will be searching for you. All you need to do is get the word out a little, if it's valuable enough it will spread on its own.

Tap into the power of social bookmarking/networking by providing unique valuable content that people are interested in.

There are many other ways as well such as SEO, but with both SEO and PPC you still have to have people that are searching for what you have. So the best way to get traffic really depends on what you have to offer that traffic.

I could get a ton of traffic right now if I wanted, but it would be useless for converting to sales. It really all depends on what you are trying to market.

Well said Miles - with all the hype and fluff out there today I would think offering the user something unique or useful is the best way to attract traffic.
