I have a question for all the experts on this forum. I am a definite "newbie".
If you could give me one piece of advice that would help a 'newbie', what would it be?

Learn, learn, and keep learning. Read books, read this forum, search the net and educate yourself.
Also, take your time! Those with the most patience win in this game.

Exactly what miles said....
Keep Learning, the more you learn, the easier sales become...
It just seem's to happen that way...
Don't over frustrate yourself... everything will come to you on your first couple sales and you will start to realize just how easy it can be.
A good place to find affiliate programs... remember this is your own choice, you choose the products you want to promote.
I have a nice link that might help you get started with a few programs...
You can promote anyone of them... http://www.affiliatetier.com/promo/30incomes.php :) Good Luck... and DO NOT give up, thats where most affiliates fail. :)
Start off as small as you can... don't start to high.. And as Miles said... BE PATIENT.. I hope my words help :)

exactly what he said. When I was a newbie I spent probaly 5 days in hours just learning and I still don't make much, but you also got to know the way I market Takes time.
Don't blow your money on PPC, I havent spent any money with PPC and I would suggest you forgetting about PPC for now.
They best way to lern is with E-Wealth and other forums, but mainly E-Wealth. :innocent:

Exactly what I did too.
Except that I would give conflicting advice. I started with PPC and I would say it has the shortest learning curve compared to creating your own sites for affiliate marketing or going straight to creating your own product which to my mind is the hardest thing to do in IM.
The disadvantage of PPC is that you can lose your shirt overnight if you don't know what you're doing.

It's the same story... keep learning... but also have some fun on the side..
There are so many part time areas for you to make some quick cash without investing much, or investing anythingl... ie., surveys, surfing and the rest of the jiggs..
But don't get stuck in it.. just use them in your spare / fun time..
Breakdown your present salary against the amount of hours you plan to spend per day and arrive at an average cost/ hour (this is what you stand to lose, when there is no income for sometime) So, consider this as your investment.
So, do not put all eggs in one basket.. a work at home job gives you the flexibility to work and earn something part time, while you are mugging up the books.
Anyway all the best.. it's not all that bad... it is the initial phase which is friggin difficult.
Cheers

This is all great advice. I'm wondering if I can help simplify it for you.
I wish right at the beginning that someone had said to me "find out what the main IM strategies are, and pick just one to get knowledgable in. When you've mastered that, add another one, then another etc etc"
Once you've decided what to learn, the learning bit is a lot easier, especially with information like you can find on this forum.
I'm pretty sure I saw a thread where Miles said the same thing.
