View Full Version : Clickbank "Wishlist"

I was thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a thread on features that we want Clickbank to include. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that Clickbank is stuck in the 90's and if they want to compete and prevent people from switching to other providers (*cough* paydotcom *cough*), then they need to look into modernizing their system.
Please add to this thread with your ideas:
-- Ability to refund orders (this applies only to merchants) from within the control panel by clicking a "refund" button next to the order on the order details page. This would save clickbank from hiring staff just to do refunds, and then merchants wouldn't have to hunt for the receipt each time.
-- Recurring subscriptions (the ability to do free trials, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) is available through just about every other processor but clickbank. Now it is possible that they aren't doing this because the target audience is the eBook market and informational products which are usually a onetime buy, but it would be great to have this feature available to merchants who would like it for "members area" themed sites.
-- Faster paycheck posting. My paycheck for 7/1-7/15 just posted *today*, on 7/28. I understand the need to wait a week to figure out postdated debits, but I don't understand the delay between 7/23 and 7/28.
-- Ability to view the number of clicks through any given hoplink. PPC conversion tracking is usually very inaccurate. I'm sure this feature would help us all out immensely.
-- Ability to view IP addresses of customers for fraud prevention. I know clickbank probably does this already, but as a merchant I would like to have that information available to me. 2checkout does this and it helps me out a lot.
Add to the list.. maybe we can start a petition. :sleazy: :)

So they are holding the money for 2 weeks. Everywhere does this, its so if everyone chargeback or gets refunded they arent stuck with the bill.
Refund and recurring would be good
PPC is hard to track sometimes, esspecially when proxied and no cookie surfers are clicking.
You cant see IP's for a reason, they would never let an affiate have that, if you need it you can request they look into it, but you still wont get it.
Sorry I cant add anything right now.

Better searching and sorting. theirs is terrible!!!!
Ability to see an image of your check so you can download at any time for records since they dont give you a check stub.
on the refunds table, SHOW THE REFUND DATE!!! that would be easier instead of searching each day individually.
direct deposit

Direct deposit and better searching/reports and merchant initiated refunds from the control panel seem to be the main things they need to do, and it wouldn't be too hard, afaik.
IP addresses should be viewable by the merchant only.

I agree on the searching. They are doing the programs and the affiliates a disservice by making it so difficult.

I would add more advanced statistics with charts and reports, conversion rates, affiliate id tracking and direct deposits. Maybe even change the order page.

the ability to communicate with your affiliates

That's a good point Nicky. With Clickbank it seems like the programs may not be really sure who their affiliates are.

Yes, and when you contact Click Bank and ask them to give the email address of a certain affiliate, they refuse.

thats stupid, with ccBill the merchant account can send out a news letter right from the admin to all affiliates that said they want to recieve it.
But you can look up any affilate at any time. Even give the best ones a better payout.

ya clickbank needs to get it together. I agree with mrosson. They will start losing business unless changes are made

Searching sucks? WHat searching? There is NO search function. I can't tell you how many times someone has asked about a particular product and I have had to go scrolling through their MarketPlace trying to find a hoplink for it. Rediculous.

I was thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a thread on features that we want Clickbank to include.
I'll play Devil's Advocate, as I am a very happy ClickBank vendor (merchant), and I love the way they do business.
-- "Ability to refund orders": As an ebook author, I take advantage of ClickBank's customer service for refunds. My "Thank You" email to new customers tells them a URL to get a refund from ClickBank, if they want.
Any readers that email me directly for a refund also get pointed to ClickBank's customer service page, so they can handle it themselves.
It's part of the service ClickBank provides, why not use it?
-- "Recurring subscriptions": ClickBank does one-time purchases that customers can know are secure, because ClickBank throws away a customer's credit card as soon as the sale goes through. I can sell thousands of copies of my ebook and never see a single one of my reader's credit card numbers... I just get my checks from ClickBank twice a month.
-- "Faster paycheck posting": True, this is slow, but it's another good security feature in my opinion. This makes sure that nobody can fraudulently post sales, and get a check for money they didn't earn. Prevents a lot of scammers from trying to defraud us.
-- "Ability to view the number of clicks through any given hoplink": I agree with you here! :) I wish there was a common standard that vendors could use, and all the affiliates could read.
-- "Ability to view IP addresses of customers for fraud prevention": You're right, clickbank does handle this, as they are the merchant. Let them handle it, one less headache for you!
-- "Search capability": ClickBank has added some searches since this thread starting, what do you guys think of them so far?

Here's one:
The ability for a merchant to look up sales by the affiliate name
Adi

1 .A nice thing to have is an API to there database so a program could be written to query the products and generate repots to manage the account -
something like google have.
2. The ability to transfer the money to a pay pal account.
3. Ability to add a picture to a product.
I have other thoughts but ... that would be a nice beginning.
:)

LordMac............welcome to eWealth. :)
Tremendous first post.
Thank you Colin, and thanks all moderators/admins for eWealth. I'm still catching up on all the great knowledge in the past year of posts, it's a lot to read, but I'm glad it's there for us all to benefit from.
You guys have gathered an awesome community here and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Back to the topic... so ClickBank paying us via Paypal would be cool, and might even be possible since they're working together.
But I don't mind since ClickBank will do Direct Deposit for sellers making over $1000+/payperiod. Newbies making below that should worry about selling more first, then when it's enough money to actually worry about, sign up for DD.
I do like to look up sales per affiliate, so I can properly reward the best ones (thanks guys!). One month at a time, I export my whole order history into a CSV file using the new Order Search page on ClickBank (orders.cgi).
I load those CSV files into Excel, and then I can sort the data any which way, to get whatever data I'm searching for, included all sales broken down by affiliate. You can even make pie charts with the Excel graph feature.
You're right, your idea would be a cool addition to ClickBank's web interface. But since they offer CSV export now, maybe that can work for you?

Why don't you suggest CB to take into consideration those features?
Paydotcom is not a great rival in my opinion ...
