Just celebrating the pay increase. Any ideas as to why he increased it?

He's changed the price and commission on that thing several times hasn't he? My guess is that sales were slipping and he wanted to give it a boost with a higher commission.

The Rich Jerk has an incredibly huge and active marketing structure put in place. They appear to be in control of this structure unlike many who try and end up with the equivalent of a huge tangled and knotted string of 50,000 xmas lights. Often the cost of untangling it is more than the cost of starting from scratch.

My point is this. The machine they have created affords them opportunities to make a small change that rolls off across their structure like a single wave on a smooth sea reaching tens of thousands of potential conversions. Here are some stats that I got from SEObook’s extension, SEO for Firefox which can be found here...
http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html

The Rich Jerk's main site has these stats...
PR: 5
Links: 16,700
Page Links: 2,130
del.icio.us: 43
Technorati: 1,293
Alexa: 4,610
Cached: 523
dmoz: 1
Bloglines: 9

The dmoz entry is a little shaky though very interesting how it came to be

You would be wise to watch what they do and when they do it. So far they have performed like a great conductor rather than trying to drive 100,000 head of cats to Reno.

I think it is truly incredible.

Remember when it came out? The huge traffic started on the first day. What I think was he had a bunch of mailers all start at the same time, it caught on fast.

Nice stats, I wouldn't call those chump stats in any scheme of things. This guy may be a jerk but he's no chump.

Hey Biff,
Thanks for pointing out that tool - it's a sensational time saver.

I don't ask this to be sarcastic, but for my own knowledge...are people still buying this ebook? Is the wave over?

From what I've heard, the methods in this book are somewhat obsolete in this day and age...

Here's the problem...

The Rich Jerk tells you to have a certain kind of "scam" site that reviews affiliate programs...his book has sold so much, that the market has become saturated with those kinds of sites. I can go on a site and pretty much tell if this person was influenced by the "Rich Jerk" or not.(And I'm not even talking about those copycats that blatantly copy him.)

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the book(it gives a good attitude about making money and puts it in simple terms so a dummy like me can understand it.LOL!! He makes it seem possible that anybody can make money on the net)

However, the book has sold so well, alot of people bought it, and now you can see his strategies everywhere.

Exactly....all of those "Important Scam Alert, Don't buy any product until you read this" ads just scream "Rich Jerk" :) Eventually the public will become desensitized.

I do think that his ebook is a decent tutorial for those that aren't familiar with internet marketing, but the information from the book is freely available on forums and such if you take the time to look.

Let me correct that: The information from the book is freely available in *this* forum and such...

There are a whole variety of better methods that are out there that can be found just by searching this forum. If nothing else, the old PPC/Affiliate model still works pretty well...

Kelly has a lot of other high profile internet marketers backing his product that had huge lists and he included their links within his ebook to kick start the process. He also collected a tonne of his own mailing list contacts through a lot of sites he has run for years and then went hard with television advertisements, etc.

Being successful is not an accident, it was a well planned precise venture.

I still prefer John Reese myself.

I've never purchased any eBooks and I don't plan to in the future. I think you would be better off reading what is freely available and going from there. Spend the money on something more important.

I purchased this book back when it was 49.95, I wasn't to impressed. Just a bunch of ideas thrown together, no real detail or plan. I did not regret buying it, because I accomplished my main mission which was seeing what all the hype was about. In a way it was like, this isn't so special. I could throw something like this together. Once you see some of the most hyped products for yourself and see that they are really not that special you can confirm to yourself what it is all about...marketing and advertising!

Are you guys having decent success selling the Rich Jerk Program?

I was curious and checked out the clickbank stats and the gravity is up to 161.57, so it is selling. The payout is not very high, as the sale price is not high either. Maybe this makes it easier to sell?
