View Full Version : Affiliate Program Invitation

I was curious to hear opinions from affiliates about programs that operate in a number of different niches. I'm and affiliate manager for a program that works in a number of different sectors: pharmacy, replicas, and tobacco.
It seems that most affiliates that work with us are reluctant to try working in other sectors. I understand that it takes a lot of time, effort, and energy to build up a site to do well in a given field, and people do not want to stray from what they don't know, but I'm finding that affiliates aren't willing to diversify.
Why is this? Is it hard to apply marketing know how learned in one niche to another?

I've been working with a handful of sites for a few years and don't have time to diversify into other sectors, although I have thought about it, I have not done it yet. I think it's due to the fact that I'm successful with what I'm currently doing, so in other words if I'm making a success from what I'm currently doing then why change things. If nothings broke, then why try and fix it sort of thing.
As to others, I'm not sure.

Thanks John
I understand what you mean about not seeing the need to branch out when everything is going well, however practically every niche in affiliate marketing can be volatile and prone to changes that are out of our control.
Does a program that offers you built in back up options and choices to work in other fields attract you in any way?

It's not hard to apply, but it takes time to build up another site, get traffic and build a list.
Managing one or two sites that pay well is going to be any affiliate's main priority.
I'm talking from experience as an affiliate, not as an affiliate manager here.
