Hey Nicky,

Thanks a lot for the info....did you ever do business with them? Are they worth it from what you know/hear?

Thanks for the feedback,

Mike

When I'm looking into buying domain names, I rarely pay attention to appraisals, for all I know, they just made that number up out of thin air.

Hey mrosson ,

That is true, as far as anybody is concerned, they could just pull that number out of anywhere.

So do you often buy domain names? Which site do you go to buy them?

Thanks,

Mike

I have a little over 100 domains in my account at www.879domains.com, most of them speculative. (popular books, movies, future presidential candidates..)

Sedo.com is great for parking names and searching for websites for sale.

Wow! 100 domain names, what do you do with all of them, lol. Yea I will check the sedo.com out tonite, great thing is that they take commission, so its an incentive for them to promote their website to more online users.

what domain do you have?

I have lots of domains too, dont want to count them though, lol.

I but from when people are selling, or if I see one I want that isnt being used I will email an offer, sometimes they are accepted, and sometimes not. pink.com turned down 11k USD offer :(

Mike, that's a nice domain there! How much traffic are you getting and what's your asking price? I would imagine if you contacted any of the major PTR programs out there about it, they would pay in the $1x,xxx range.

I would take that money then, unless you have bigger plans for it.
I would have gave an offer of 1200 personally, not nessisarly because thats what its worth, but to ME thats what its worth, mostly because the idea I have for it I am not sure how good it would be.

Have any other good ones though?
3 letter ones by chance?

I would contact CVS Pharmacy for one of yours. They might be interested and have the bucks to pay for it.

Hi Moose:

Sounds like a great idea, however in my experience, bigger dollar values seem to come for those willing to wait for a buyer to find them, rather than me looking for the buyer. I am in no hurry to sell. It gets good traffic and is a great name. It is money in the bank.

well the problem would come when they sue you for the domain for cybersquating and win easy if you try and sell it to them.

Anyways, hit me up on icq with all your 3 charator domains 347458007
:) look forward to talking to you.

That's a good point Jeff, but it is my understanding that they would need to prove that it was registered and/or used in bad faith too. I have owned cvs.net since about 1998.

CVS.net was one of North America's largest ISPs prior to being bought out by LanStar communications. Also a "cv" is a curriculum vitae, what the rest of the world calls a resume, cvs is also a concurrent version software and so many other things.... accronyms are tough. Do a search for CVS and C.V.S. and you will be surprised.

CVs have been CVs LONG before there was ever an online pharmacy.

Your right, but when you go to them to try and sell is as the fact thats its their name, thats when they would get you.
I guess put it on an auction site or listing site of some sort, and just emailed them the link with "you might be interested"
Its just too bad its a .net, they all want the .com of their name.
