I mentioned a few weeks back that the Google Affiliate Network was going to start making commission payments through Google AdSense accounts.
As of August 13, there has been an account notification when logging in to the Google Affiliate Network asking affiliates to create a Google AdSense account or link to an existing Google AdSense account.
I have both Google Affiliate Network and Google AdSense accounts and was glad to combine them.
The process was quick and painless.
But this move wasn’t received well by some affiliates that didn’t want an AdSense account or couldn’t seem to get one.
Here is what Jamie had to say…Yes, it is an easy process, especially since most affiliates already have AdSense accounts.
Those that don’t have AdSense accounts need to apply for one.
Finally, there are a very small number of affiliates whose AdSense accounts — once in good standing — were disabled for some kind of non compliant behavior.
For this group, they need to file an appeal through the online process to see if they can have their AdSense account reinstated.
We are making efforts to assist when and where possible for all affiliates through the documented process.
This is simply a payment platform, and running AdSense is optional.
Accounts must be linked before midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on September 21st, 2009 to receive payments through Google AdSense for July and August 2009 earnings (depending on relevant advertiser payment terms)............see
