View Full Version : My Niche eBook Is Starting To Sell Very Well

A few weeks ago i launched a new site and ebook on how to find a niche

I so far haven't driven much traffic to it. It has a squidoo lens about 5 articles on ezine and a small low priced PPC campaign driving about 10 - 20 clicks per day..... I dont particularly want it over promoted as i want to use it as part of a membership site im developing.

http://www.howtofindaniche.info/

Im now selling several to many copies per day and my conversion rate is awesome its about 20% -30%...... looking at my stats a fair share of the traffic is direct, which indicates its probably referred traffic from word of mouth......

Anyway its been a real little winner for me and i just thought i might share it in here..........All the best

Matt.

It's a good market
Sales letter looks average minus, if you are making sales its good news because you got lots of stuff to improve.

point taken

The sales letter is thrown together to simply test the market and im not prepared to spend much more time on it at present, as im working hard on my membership site, so will eventually pull the pin on this product and put it in my site......

In keeping with the theme of shared knowledge, what exactly dont you like about it

Its good news however that its selling strongly even with an average sales letter....

The only promotion i have going for this product is
5 ezine articles,
Forum Sig
SEO optimized web site
A squidoo lense
A small PPC campaign costing virtually nothing

As my traffic is rising my conversion is falling slightly, possibly due to some keywords that are not targeted enough....

Ive got about 40 other projects happeing in one big money pool so finding areas to reinvest profits is not a problem......its finding time thats the big issue.... Ive got 5000 things I want or need to do, could improve etc

Its amazing ive got many projects up and running successfully, but i still get very excited when a new one takes off well, no matter how big or small.

Since making this post ive also launched another thats working very well...

Im about to jam the price up on this one.....I recently doubled my price to $14 as i had plenty of testimonials and as is often the case its selling significantly better at $14 then $7.......

I will soon be paying to have proffessional sales copy written and articles to promote it, then putting it up to $47 as a stand alone product...

I initially was going to place it on my membership site, however i am currently undecided so will run it as stand alone and only pull the pin once my membership site is running.

Hey,

Good work Matt. I'm also planning to set up a website selling ebook, can you please give me some marketing tips? I'm just planning to sell it for less than $10, because I want everybody to afford my ebook.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Goodluck to your biz.:)

The best tip i can give you is work out what customers want before you even put pen to paper........

Secondly dont jump to conclusions about price = $10

You need to test and see what your customers want.......In this very example the niche e-Book im selling has more then doubled in sales since I more then doubled the price last week from $7 to $17.......

It really weird but often cheap is seen as "cheap" not value.

So the best advice is use Google's sktool, trends and insight to work out what customers search for. Use forums to find problems. Then solve them. Test pricing and let customers decide pricing. Also test a few sales scripts, ads and landing page options, again let customers determine the best via sales data.

Oh and find niches you have skills , exp or knowledge and are passionate about.......

Keep your ebook between 16-28 pages in length......Put it in two parts if you need more space, give the first 6 pages away free as a viral ebook and sell the part 2.....

Write at least 5-10 articles, publish them with strong call to action.

Dont be affraid to sell its your job.

Matthew it is a great idea that you are raising your price. There is obviously a demand for your niche ebook.

Cool Matt, thanks for sharing.

How much did you spend on your PPC campaign? And how well is your site ranking for SEO? I'm trying to get an idea of what might work for me, thanks!

Matthew, I think you are doing something very "right". Now, I know it is NOT
the sales copy, so it has got to be the targeted traffic. In any case you
deserve hearty congratulations for your efforts. Best wishes for lots more
sales. ...and don't take my jib on your sales copy too seriously....
Hey! it works!
