The Internet has become a valuable source of information and purchasing tool for today's consumer. With the click of mouse consumers find almost anything from products to services on the web and they can shop for the best prices.

With everything at the consumers' fingertips, the niche entrepreneur can also benefit from today's market culture. Just as consumers can shop from their living rooms and kitchens, niche marketers can conduct business in the convenience of their own homes. If you are looking to set your own hours, have less commuting time, and enjoy the general freedoms of working for yourself, starting a niche home business may be right for you.

Definitely an important part of your start up plan is investing time in finding your niche.

So what does this mean, finding your niche?

Identifying a niche is about finding a distinct segment of consumer interest, then capitalizing on the niche market. It means finding that particular spot in the business world where you can stand out amongst others.

Here’s an example of a niche market. Have you ever thought about selling mixed sized shoes to people who’s feet are different sizes? You could buy fashionable shoe and sell a pair with a right shoe one size bigger than the left to one person and another pair with the left shoe one size smaller to another that has that need.

If your home business focuses on shoes, you may be competing with the hundreds of other sellers. But if your business focuses on selling mismatched shoes, you may find yourself without any direct competition. That’s niche marketing!

I find the 2 best tools for finding a niche (which after all is what?) The tools I use are google keyword tool and google itself with " ".

I'm afraid that I dont subscribe to niche research which isn't done already 'by the giants' ie Google, Amazon, Ebay and so on. Don't walk too quickly passed the magazine stand either.

Ask the big guy your questions (metaphorically) see what's 'hot' there, see what's selling there, go there and your find niches. See how they present those same niches and learn your skills about niches from experts and giants, my 2cents worth.

Sorry if it is a bit cryptic.

How To Find Red Hot Niche In Minutes

The Best of The Best When It Comes To Making Money Online

How To Research And Locate A Hot Niche

In this article you will learn hot to find the most red hot niche markets and products currently on the internet. What is even better is that I will teach you how to do it fast and free.

In this article I will teach you how to find hot niches in a few minutes and it won’t cost you anything.

You will learn how to use the search tool from Google to find niches that people are actively and currently searching for products to purchase.

You will learn how to research into each niche using the Google Search Based Keyword Tool to locate any sub-niches that may be worth exploring.

You will learn how to identify the number of competing pages using Google search, so you can estimate if a niche is too saturated to pursue.

And lastly you will learn how to select the best domain names for your products.
It appears most new Internet Marketers struggle to find niches and don’t know how to do the research to locate niches.
The methods used in this article use free web page based tools. Using these methods, you will be able to find new niche markets and decide if they are worth pursuing. This method will also give you the keywords to target. These free and original techniques are every bit as good as any purchased software to do the job.

Google Search Based Keyword Tool

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

This is a free tool for Ad Words account holders. These accounts are free and anyone can set one up in minutes. Follow the links to the tool called Keyword Tool
The Search Based Keyword Tool can be used by using your domain and it will analyze the words on your web pages and match keywords. But our suggestion is you go about the whole process backwards and use the keyword to find the latest IN DEMAND niches.

Here Is How It Is Done.
In the Keyword Tool, scroll to the bottom and click "Or see top keywords across all categories".

You will see a list of categories that are the currently most searched terms on Google
This is the most valuable item on the entire Google network.

Right here Google is listing what people are currently trying to purchase.
If you click on any of these categories they even break it down into items and quantities.
You now need to look at how many competing pages there are for each product or category you think you may shortlist for your niche. As a rule of thumb you should be able to be competitive with items that have less then 500,000 pages and anything under 250,000 you should be able to dominate.
You then need to see how many exact term pages are there. Anything under 150,000 is great.
Now you need to do a Google search and see what sort of competition you are up against. Put your niche term in to Google Search in “” eg: “carpet cleaning” and then check out the competition to see the types of pages they have, their links and on what other sites they have links coming from.
Then search that domain name in “” and if they have under 30 entries in Google they should be very easy to beat to number one location using SEO and article marketing.
Go to Godaddy.com and search for domain names like “carpetcleaning.com” It may even be taken but in most cases is not being used so put it in your URL and have a look. If that’s not available at a reasonable cost then repeat the process and get the closest available terms to your exact niche keyword/s as possible.

If all your variants are gone add a term like expert to your domain eg “carpet cleaningexperts.com” or carpetcleaningdoctor.com Add a term that gives you instant expert credibility.

Thanks Matthew,
I got a product all over Page One beating out 3 million pages and still no $ales. That is frustrating. I have put in a lot of time and effort and I need to score before I melt down and just use my computer to download movies! I guess I need to go niche first and your post shined a light on that Google Keyword tool. I had not noticed that feature, probably because my head is spinning, trying desperately to get results. I might buy some stuff from myself just to see something other than Zero in my clickbank account!

Awesome example given maxlazer. Very concise! Yet the challenge still lies in coming up with a product that's unique as to narrow down the competition, yet considered as a necessity rather than a luxury.
