Ok,
For me I have always found that humor is pretty easy for me. So I wanted to know how can i make this effective for me in affiliate marketing, the goal is to make money right? So here is what I do, I make my about me page on whatever, ezinearticles, squidoo, hubpages, etc, but I make it kind of comical. I am not saying go supper corny with it but make it a little humorous, people will kind of chuckle when they read your life story and it helps to build trust.
......and always take the time to fill out the about me section! .....even if you don't want to use my advice.
hope this helps

Humor means making others laugh. It is good to be humor. Humor is good for the body. Acutually laughter brings down the pain. This happens due to the release of endorphins in the body while laughing. They are the body’s natural painkiller.

Hi,
My opinion...use humor. The Internet has become somewhat cold and lonely...humor will provide warmth. Your humor will also add a personal touch and with more articles and even websites being artificially generated, I think a little humor in your articles themselves, etc. is well worth it. For example, I have a website for Internet Marketers and I guarantee that if you will stay and browse, that you will not only become a Marketing Genius (two or more visits), you will also leave better looking, slimmer, and luckier-grin. Use humor, by all means. I was afraid at first and then I thought ...so what...if I alienate someone with wholesome humor...that is their problem. Good Luck.
Much Success,
George Pierce

Humor helps to reach your client's happy heart and helps get the point across.
Use humor, but be careful… you need to be careful not to insult or be misunderstood. To convey the right meaning, the message must be really clear to the people. Good luck. :)

Humour or humor is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement. Many theories exist about what humour is and what social function it serves. People of most ages and cultures respond to humour. The majority of people are able to be amused, to laugh or smile at something funny, and thus they are considered to have a "sense of humour".

When you can make someone laugh, you become much more personable to them and they may even feel more comfortable around you that they trust you more.
In terms of business, humor is a great way to get through hurdles. When you can laugh about a mistake or something that didn't go the way you had hoped for, you use humor as a way to look at everything in a different way--suddenly it's not so bad anymore. That outlook is good for any business.

Humor is absolutely needed to a certain extent no matter what your niche is. A smile is good, but a chuckle is worth a whole lot more.

In my opinion using humor can attract a lot of things, I have not worked in mood because I am still new in this field, but I think it is like a key to this.
At the moment, am filled with hope to find some great folks that I can be useful to,as well as some great ideas on how I can advance to be useful in the future.
:) My door is always open for a great, mutually-beneficial,rewarding conversation!
Also i found something interesting that help you a lot:

Totally agree with you. However, it seems that most site owners do not resort to humor to generate more traffic to their sites. No wonder their sites feel and look so cold, empty and deserted like a ghost town.

I see humor mostly as a personal matter. For instance, you don't want to burst out laughing every time you see something funny. If I did that, people would give me weird looks. I try to keep my sense of humor to myself when around other people or when doing a job, because it can be a distraction if you don't keep an air of professionalism. But just because it's expressed inwardly doesn't mean it's not important to me. I look to my sense of humor to turn negative situations into positive ones, make light of adversary, and find new ways to look at things and examine cultural beliefs.

I think that's a great attitude to have lol. As long as you don't laugh in extremely inappropriate situations that could really offend someone. But then again, it's too hard to always predict what will offend someone these days.

Heh, well that's great that you don't worry what other people think lol. I guess I am more on the self-conscious side. Perhaps if I see enough of the smilies in your post then I'll be motivated to just have fun like you say. I would still say that in some situations it's inappropriate, but in general there is really no need to not laugh just to look more 'professional.'

Humor is a good way to break the ice, get everyone on a better note to try and strike up a deal. Very little can be accomplished at the end of the day if you keep things too much by the book and boring.
And it does give the prospective clients an inside as to the type of person you are but too much of that can work against you, make you out to be a con man or something. There's a gray area that you kind of have to keep in check while adding humor to expand your networking.

i think the thing about humor and the internet is that it brings back to the fact that this is an individual medium. it is really weird that billions of people can be online at once but the web is a very personal experience, if we keep that in mind and speak to each other one to one there is a greater impact - humor illustrates that perfectly:shock:

Agree. Even on tv ads, even on youtube. Humor can call people's attention, even the corniest of all, at times like this, we actually find comfort, wherein we can let go of our miseries, frustrations or whatsoever...etc.. and I don't know, maybe this is our comfort zone, what do you think?
