Yes - somewhat success.
Only a small part of the entire overall marketing packaging, kind of like part of a nest egg. Definately need all the other marketing techniques in the mix.

I don't think someone is making $1,000,000 with forum marketing, but it's possible where the payout is LARGER.. not just $10 e-books, but you can definitely make some good money from forums and especially leads...

The leads are usualyl not so qualified as they konw they can get the info for free in the forums if they search around for 2 months and that's what they do, usually...

I would have to agree with you on that matter, forums are great places to talk to customers or potential customers 1 on 1 and gain leads :D.

It can be a part of your overall marketing plan. Basically it involves putting good links in your signature or comment section related to the topic. You must give good answers or ask viable questions. Don't just promote your links or you will be booted out.

You join lots of forums about the opportunity you're promoting, and put your link into your signature (not just your ref link, best would be a capture page link where leads get to fill out a Form that will build you up a mailing list)

The key is not to focus on one method of marketing. You want to diversify your marketing efforts. For example, you can do forum marketing, article marketing, and Offline marketing.

I am also new here. Pardon me for the remedial questions but I am not sure I understand what you mean by capture page link.
I have some websites, each dedicated to a particular niche. They really do not sell anything except what is offered through the banner ads, adsense, amazon, etc.
If my sig is mywebsite dot com obviously this is not what you mean. But what type of capture page link could I put? Is this only for those that actually offer something such as an ebook or other digital type downloadable product?
