I just got hooked up to this site called clickindia.com (http://www.clickindia.com). I posted a business ad in this site and was amazed by how one single advertisement on this site has helped my business. I am looking for more websites similar to clickindia. Any info?

Free classifieds do work. And I suspect that the response people get from them will improve over time, since there's a lot of talk in the media about the online classifieds industry growing hugely, with big consequences for newspapers.

I think that the more localized ones work best. I've had a few calls from people in my city who saw my ads online.

Specificity helps, too. Many people put general biz opp type ads up there, get no response and give up. But if you have something more particular -- like your own unique goods or services -- you'll get better results, too.

I also got response from Facebook classifieds.
