Yes the resource box is for your url link and other links that you would like to reference directly relating to your article. For example, I was comparing evidence and referencing that evidence from an article name and author in the text area with quotes, but I only put the reference link in the "resource box" below under my url link.
Ezinearticles has a rule that you can not reference any links within the first 3 or 4 paragraphs. I found it simpler to put the url in the resource box. Ezinearticles reviews your articles by hand and sometimes edits. They will make you redo the article if it is not quite right. You would have this detail editing and review for your first 10 articles. If you follow all the rules, then they will promote you. Thereby, you will have unlimited ability to submit articles.

I also use:
Goarticles.com
dropjack.com
submityourarticle.com
ezine.com
zimbio.com
articledashboard.com
blogger.com
blogsearch.com
to name a few..

My blog relates to environmental discussions so I find that a specific article submission website for that category helps greatly:
alternativeenergybase.com
So you could probably find links of other articles that will lead you to more specific websites that have only articles to your specific niche.

Your resource box is also the place where you place a call to action for your readers. Ezine Articles does not allow affiliate links but you should stress the benefits of your service, product or information and your web or squidoo link can lead them to taking the next step

Don't erase it - the site's policies or tutorials should tell you how to make the correction. If you can't find it there simply contact the admin department for help

Sometimes it means asking a question two or three times. I recognize that I'm persistent. If a politician wants to offer bromides, they can buy a 30-second commercial.I'd like to have a conversation with Bruce Springsteen. I earned my way through law school by booking a Springsteen concert in 1974.When it gets down to a point, I think it's very fair for a news organization to make an editorial judgment that some candidates have a more serious claim on a nomination than others.

Your resource box is where you explained a little about yourself and give a prospect a reason to click on your links. For example, 4 ways you can lose 10 pounds in 7 days for more information click on link.

I always submit articles to ezinearticles.com They check the articles manually so it surely is a great resource for quality articles. You can place your blog's url or your website in your resource box.

Most of the time, the article directories don't allow affilaite links in the resource box.
