Hello,

I have problem with craigslist.

I posted my ads, but I can't find them. They are "active", I can access them, but they don't appear in craigslist listing(I mean when I go to the right location, and select right category, I can't see them).
I've tried many times.

I haven't traffic at all, what can be the reason for that?

If someone can help me I'll be very thankful.

Thank you in advance.

I suspect they were taken off,
but that's my guess from my short experience with Craigslist,

Anyway,
I heard about a very good book (around 25$) that helps people
with Craigslist,
I think if you are serious about this site, go and invest to learn how to dill
with this site,

I don't remember exactly the name of the book and the author,
If you would like I can give a quick search,

Cheers,

craigslist is very hard to penetrate if you don't know how to go around them. they are heavily guarded. if you want to use them effectively you should find some resources to help you.

We have the same problem too. My ads is active in the dashboard but when I searched it, it's not in the search result. My friend told me that maybe craisglist blocked my IP.

Craigslist just changed their policy that makes it tougher to advertise your site now.
Recently, it used to be that you could use your e-mail as a verification to confirm the link to your ad. Or set up an account with them and it would accept your ad after verification to your email.

Now.. you have to verify by phone. It actually calls your phone for verification. This is to prevent the opportunity of submitting to multiple cities or categories.

Craigslist does not like "affiliate links" as ads. If you can hide your affiliate link, more than likely you can have success with the category: " small business services" in the services category.

Craigslist does catch on to tinyurl and offto to cloak affiliate links.

I have only been able to successfully post with products from click2sell.com, because the links are not as obvious from being from an affiliate as if from clickbank.com. Click2sell hides the affiliate name until you get to the purchasing page.

Craigslist has poeple checking and deleting constantly. They don't want any "spam"

There is success if you just have the customers contact your email only and not include the link. Then you can send them the link with the customers approval. But again you have to make your ad look like a small business in that area.

If you post in any other area besides the "small business services" then you really need to make sure your product matches that category and you hide your affiliate link.

Craigslist is even considering disallowing html codes within the ads. Advertisers have learned to get around the system by posting with hidden html codes.

Another good alternative is www.backpage.com. It has similar rules as craigslist but is easier to post. You can post in other cities but need to pay as a premier ad. Many people use Backpage.com now.

This is from little experience I have had so far through some mistakes.
But that is the best way to learn..

Good luck

There is a third alternative which is www.kijiji.com. It also has almost as strict policies as Craigslist. You need to only post in your state though or it would be deleted as well. You should post within the business services section as well. Unless you have a product that matches another category like books.
