I have to say this is a general list that covers a lot of ground.
And I do believe in using free classifieds (http://www.ablewise.com) to get some traffic and maybe backlinks at the same time.
Thanks for the list.

I mean:
Nr.11 Register a domain and redirect the visitors. It’s a lot easier for people to find you if you have your own domain name rather than anonymousblog.blogspot. com.

Good point about registrating your domain.

Any for free and is it worth while?

Nice list thanks!
One "but", i find the social bookmarking traffic pretty badly converting. My arcadesite had good use of it but all my other sites didnt, was nice to see it on the traffic counter, but it didnt convert at all.
Good work on the list tho!

I have had success with some of the smaller PPC sites, namely Bidvertiser and Clicksor. These are good because you can get started with only $20, and pay by Paypal.
They are also quite simple to use, and have geographic targeting.

Good list. I think it will be very useful to the newbies. Registering domains was a good one. I would like to add blog commenting and directory submission. Video submission is also a great way to generate traffic.:)

Also top5 twitter tips :)
1.Network with people in your niche – add them as friends and ask them to do the same, so they’ll get your updates when you tweet them.
2. Use a Twitter Search tool like Summize to see who is talking about your topic.
3. Let your followers and friends know about your new content
4. Solicit feedback on Twitter
5. Embed a Twitter box on your web page.

Hey there,
Well, article submission is a great way to increase backlinks. There are many sites on the net to which you can submit your article. All you have to do is a search for article directories and you will get tons. It can be time consuming, but I suggest writing a few articles and alternating them as you submit. Some search engines are looking more for content instead of quantity. This means that if you submit the same article to 100 sites might not have the same effect as if you submit 5 different articles to 50 sites. Good Luck...
PS.
Oh, by the way, on the list, great suggestions!!!!

Well, alls are good tips but social networks, bookmarks and communities are very much helpfuland most effective in now days to promote a site as through them you will get more and more traffic in less time. Suppose you have posted a really goood post or link on social networks and it members like it they will share that with their friends and in this way your link or post will be virally spread all over the web .

Very useful information. I can see there are many well informed members here. I've seen Viral marketing work very well also. Anything that is free but generates lots of page views can't be beaten.
