Increasing traffic to my site

I am a small business enterprise and have recently got a website for my goods. I would like to attract more and more viewers in my vicinity so as to popularize and sell my products. I am looking for a solution provider who can enhance the hits on my business site. Can someone help me out please?

You should have someone locally that would do some website consulting with you and can help you with search engine optimization (SEO). They don't need to be local, but it wouldn't hurt. If you have a local business you want someone that will optimize your website content and keywords for your city so if someone is searching for a plumber they will probably search for something like:

"plumbing service Chicago IL" or "plumbing services repair Chicago"

You need someone who understands your need to come up on the first page with a local search.

Ask around see if anyone other small business people are using a consultant, and if they are happy with their website traffic.

Be more focused at getting the right traffic to your site that would make conversions. SEO (through quality and targeted backlinks), advertisements, etc. should be your top priorities.

Hi Joseph, it looks like there is a lot of good information being shared here! I agree with blogging. But if you are looking for specific traffic from your location I would certainly start with classifieds. Many are free, and can be targeted to specific locations. Examples would be craigslist, webleeg ( I'm not sure on the spelling), and many more. Many classifieds will connect you to more classifieds also! Good Luck!
