After playing with a lot of online marketing techniques over the past couple of months, I finally made my first commission - $91.39! Woohoo! I knew I'd eventually make my first $1, I just didn't know when or how.

The technique I used did not cost me a dime to learn or apply; it only took time.

Article marketing + blogging brought that commission.

I just hope it wasn't a fluke, and if it was, I hope I can replicate it! My head has been spinning with ideas on furthering this niche and marketing approach.

Over the past couple of months, I've tried affiliate marketing with article marketing, adwords, blogspot, wordpress, squidoo, and adsense. Adwords is the only thing that has cost me money, and I won't be playing with that again until I learn how to manage a more effective campaign.

Bum marketing was the seed that started my interest in internet marketing (thanks Travis!).

$91.39 is a very decent amount too, as the others say :) My first commission was only about 60 cents when I first standard in affiliate marketing in 1997.

I anticipate spending the first 6 months of this year exploring techniques to find the ones that work for me. I've continued to pull in a few more sales here and there, but I'm still feeling things out and finding my rhythm.

I still get excited everytime I see a commission - even a small one!

I made 102.39 last month marketing a traffic site. I didnt even do anything except put the url in my emails that I normally send out. It is small potatoes but it is just funny how affiliate marketing can work.

I too had my first sale of $40 recently. It is the fruit of staying motivated and doing the right things on a daily basis.

This forum is very useful and people can learn from experienced marketers who are willing to share their knowledge.

You just have to keep visiting the forums, ask questions, watch the discussions and take notes for implementing later.

This is a good learning process that is sure to pay off.
