Does anybody here use PPC to promote click bank products?
If you do, do you use a splash page or do you send visitors directly to your sales pages?
thanks

I am mostly a vendor, but some time I found one product that is worth promoting and I am running a PPC campaign for it. Not much money, like $150 per month, but it's steady :) I am simply sending the visitors to the vendor's site, I was too lazy to create my own landing page. I was even so much lazy that I framed the vendor's in a frame on my server, I know that Google hates it but the Adwords campaign still performs well.

Yes, it's possible, but mostly it is not easy. It's really better to make a squeeze page, so you can follow up with your visitors and even pay lower CPC.
It's tough to compete with direct linking against affiliates that have a sophisticated salesfunnel system with backend profits. They can afford to pay higher CPC and still make enough profits.

I get good returns using direct linking as an affiliate.
I don't know if I'd say it's hard, but I'd say you have to play smart.
To make it work, at least for me, it's important to track every campaign to every minute detail. This includes, but is not exclusive to, knowing which countries to advertise to that produce the greatest returns & knowing which times of day produce the greatest return per advertising dollar.
A great tracking software is of utmost importance.

Better send them to a landing page. One of the biggest advantages - you would have better quality score so you would pay less for each click ;)

Landing page that allows them to opt in, otherwise direct linking...

Ok, when you have a squeeze page (landing page) then you can optimize it for the keywords. You can also have several, or lots of squeeze pages optimized for certain keyword phrases. Thus you will have lower CPC.
The other advantage is, that you can give the people the possibility to opt in to your mailing list (give a good incentive - ecourse or ebook etc), so you can send them follow up emails, so they have more chances to buy something from you!
Think about that: 7 contacts to 1 people bring higher chances for a sale than 1 contact to 7 people. If you send the people helpful and educational content, then they will pick from your hand... ;)
Back end profits are, when you later sell them higher priced items. When you first get them to opt in with giving away something for free, you have the possibility to follow up with them. Then first you can sell them a lower priced item, because more people will buy it, and at this time most people are still in you list. Then you can offer something higher priced. People are more likely to buy that now, because they already trust you more, and you have a bunch of proven buyers in your list.
So when you make more profits with Back End, you can afford higher CPC, and get more traffic.
