Trying to understand what he is talking about exactly, is TYPE a clickbank variable? If so, what does it do?

I couldn't find out what browser he initially used, but it sounds like the blogger has just discovered the problem (not sure if it's still a problem) in how Firefox caches clickbank hoplinks that was discussed a while back.
And if my memory serves me right, if you just put arbitrary parameters at the end of the url, which i do anyways, firefox would go ahead and make a new page request instead of pulling hoplinks from cache.
Or maybe there's some magical nohop param. I didn't really follow the guy's story too well. It would seem that he's saying that this "nohop" value magically turns Clickbank's tracking "on" like a switch & that it's otherwise "off". I think he could have put any value after his hoplink as a remedy to caching issues & he'd notice the same benefit

I agree with mojoju. The browser will serve the page from its cache
depending on how many days you have saved in your settings to store
your browser history. If you go through your hoplink and set your
cookie, and then delete your cookie and go back through your hoplink
again, the browser will serve the page from its cache and not create
the cookie again and you will not see your id on the order form, even
though you went through your hoplink. If you delete both cookies and
cache, then the affiliate id should show on the order form again when
going through your hoplink.
Clickbank has supposed made some changes this year to decrease your
chances of losing commissions, though I don't know exactly what the
changes were and how they work.

Hey WayneB, looks like we discussed this about a year ago over here:

It's not necessarily a Clickbank issue. It's a Firefox issue which likely affects affiliate links of many other networks. It may be possible ( I don't know enough) for Clickbank to provide a server-side remedy for this by the use of Cache-Control http headers.

Excellent insight fellas! I found his story hard to follow as well, but I think what you are referring to is what he is experiencing. Thanks for the input!
