Yeah, how dare they advertise on your member's area. It's like they think it's their own web site or something.

I find it a bit tacky. If anything I would appreciate seeing other offers that I could promote, not info. products to buy. But it's a small thing really, and could be a good way to advertise your product to potential affiliates.

Can we advertise our products in the members area too? I don't think we can. Clickbank is taking a bigger piece of the pie.

It looks like Chris McNeeny struck a deal with Clickbank on this product. Dang not like he did not have a big enough list. This could be a cool product but for $77 a month it is expensive. Besides it probably is just rehashed Project X & DJK that I all ready have. I think it is cool how they got different experts in the product. That makes it more interesting.

I like how they make it sound like a university. It sounds like a education.

If that is the case .
and clickbank struck a deal with only one vendor for advertising inside
the members area then i think clickbank are making a big mistake
as other vendors will feel cheated.
clickbank should be neutral to all its vendors and not show it favours
one vendor over the other, that's just not fair.
however, if this is a new advertising spot open to all
then i think its OK.
At the very least they should make it a paid advertising spot open for everyone , i would have made this advertisement
rotate with different products
(just my opinion).

That's what it looks like to me too. Check out the blog http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/blog/ that kind of explains it all.

Oh duh, there's a little paragraph at the bottom of the site that says:

"ClickBank, ClickBank University, and their associated logos are registered trade marks and service marks of Click Sales Inc. ClickBank
University is operated by Walker Rhodes LLC, an independent licensee of Click Sales, Inc. Walker Rhodes LLC is not a business unit,
division, or subsidiary of Click Sales, Inc., and is solely responsible for the operation of ClickBank University. Click Sales, Inc., disclaims

Hi everybody,

I'm the mysterious other guy in the ClickBank University scenario.

ClickBank University is in fact a joint venture between my company, Walker Rhodes LLC and ClickBank.

The story of how it all came together is exactly what I said in the sales letter...

I was in discussions with one of the executives at ClickBank about the possibility of offering ClickBank Affiliates and Publishers when the executive team went to meet with the ClickBank Advisory Board in the UK, where they got a ton of feedback that they needed to provide a training solution for their marketers.

When he returned, we put our heads together and came up with a really solid program that I hope people will really like.

Chris is our first month's instructor, but has no formal relationship other than that with CBU.

We've got content from 5 others all lined up and ready to go after Chris' month is over. I talk about 3 of them in the sales letter.

The ad spot you were asking about was one I suggested they create a while back, and you may recall there was a ClickBank Email Communications ad there over the past couple of weeks. It's most likely a spot that will be used by ClickBank to announce future initiatives as well, so I don't think you'll see it up for sale.

ClickBank is totally behind and very much involved in this venture. They really feel a strong responsibility for CBU to provide as much training and guidance as they can, so I think this will turn out to be a real positive thing for all people involved.

I should have jumped in to the conversation sooner, but just thought I'd pop in and clarify a couple of issues you might be wondering about.

Take care,

It's a great idea. The name leverages on Success University that hardly anyone who's concerning with internet marketing for a longer time not stumbled about yet.

If Clickbank wouldn't be involved, I think they didn't have given the allowance to use their brand name in the title. So it's only logical that they advertise it.

Can we get a discount as affiliates?

As a matter of fact you can (as long as it's OK with Clickbank). You can earn 1% commission on this product. http://www.clickbank.com/info/jmap.htm?vendor=cbacademy

Does anybody know if Clickbank allows this? I'm just asking for those of us whom the price is about 77 cents over our budget.

Seriously THOUGH, it looks like a great program. I watched some of the sample videos and I found them quite informative without any of the "YOU'VE GOT TO BUY THIS NOW. NOW. NOW! IT'S THE MOST AMAZING THING SINCE THE DISCOVERY OF ELECTRICITY" type of hype that is often found in videos for IM products. It was quite refreshing.

I do think that $2.53 a day ($2.50/day with affiliate commission:lol:) is peanuts for a good education.

Oh yeah, welcome to eWealth Andy. It's good to have you here.

That is real low commision. I guess they are trying to make sure that there is not too many people buying through their own link.

Dang..... That is the worst commision % I have ever seen on clickbank. I guess they get enough traffic from affiliates that visit the members area. Besides the JV partners lists.

I noticed this last night after logging onto my CB account to do some research. I think it's great. If someone took the initiative to develop a world-class product and they have partnered with CB, more power to them. Anything that promotes CB and teaches people how to develop and sell digital products is good for all CB dealers.

andyz

That's a good point.

But I just thought, it's a unfair cometition for all the products about making money, internet marketeing, affiliate marketing or even make money with CB...I think they will drop in sales maybe. Although the CB university is rather high price so maybe it has not so much effect.

Andy Bourland

Hi everybody,

Uh no... there is not a 1% commission. I'm going to have to correct that. That's a residue from one day this summer when I was fooling around setting up this whole thing (we've been working since last spring to get it all planned and executed). Sorry about any confusion I may have caused.

Anyway, let me address the affiliate issue...

As of today, there is no affiliate program in place for ClickBank University.

ClickBank determined that ClickBank University is a service that they offer their members, not a product on the ClickBank Marketplace.

I've gotten a lot of feedback from affiliates saying they'd really like to get behind it and market it to their lists.

I've passed that feedback on to ClickBank.

Haven't heard back yet, but I'll tell you from working closely with these guys, they really listen... they're downright fanatical about making sure they please their customers. Even when they make decisions that APPEAR like they don't care. I've learned that they really DO care and are really passionate about making things right.

They've got some good plans in the hopper that I know you'll be happy when they happen, but I'm under NDA, so that's all I can say right now.

So for the affiliate program, it's not on the menu right now. I can't say if or when it ever will be. I honestly don't know.

If any of you want to drop me a line, have any questions or comments, you can reach me anytime at andrew@clickbankuniversity.com. It's my real address, I do read it and I personally respond.

Sorry for not checking in sooner today to address this issue, but as you can imagine, I'm really buried with all the good response we're getting so far.

I'll promise to post more and stay in touch.

Thanks,

I think that if Clickbank really thinks that this will help us to become better merchants/affiliates, then they should buy it out, and give it away. Selling it in the manner that they are - gives credence to what many have already been thinking - and that is that Clickbank is Just a Good-ole Boys network. And they give favor and unfair advantage to several top merchants.

For example there are several of the big merchants (and most of us here know who they are) that can get away with bringing new products to the market place, that Clickbank has banned the rest of us from selling as merchants.

It's one of the main reasons that PDC has been gaining ground on CB lately. And it could cause a major exodus to 2CO when they get up and running, if CB doesn't steer clear of that type of behavior, or even the appearance of that behavior.

Just my $.02

Hi Venrooy,

Just so you know, I'm not a good ol boy or part of ClickBank's inner circle.

They aren't playing any favorites with me or granting me special privileges.

I'm their JV partner, working with them to respond to an issue that was really pressed upon them when they met with the ClickBank Advisory Board.

Trust me, they had plenty of other things to do, but they were really pressed on that issue.

They are doing the right thing, IMHO.

Thanks for hearing me out on this.

Good job getting a JV with Clickbank Andy. That is just golden.

Nice that you got so many people involved in this project. What is the plan to keep this clickbank university going? How many months of material do you have stock piled for this? Is this going to be mostly original material or just repackaged material. I know you said you like to repackage plr material that is why I asked. Who all is lined up to teach?

Here is the list so far.

Month 1: Chris McNeeney –
“Proven and Successful Affiliate Strategies
for ClickBank Marketers”

Month 2: Michael Cage –
“Dramatically Increase Your ClickBank Sales
Through Teleseminars and Webinars”

Month 3: Chris Austin –
Creating And Marketing High Impact Digital Info Products
With Camtasia Videos

Month 4: Jay White –
Developing High Impact Autoresponder Copy
For Successful ClickBank Campaigns

Hi Rocker,

We have two more months of plans that I haven't talked about, both being led by Ray Edwards, the famous copywriter.

He's going to lead an eClass on writing powerful copy in your sales letters (I've taken his class, it's excellent!) so I'm very excited about that.

He's also designed a unique 4 week series called "How to earn your first $5000 on ClickBank". I've sat through a similar class to that with him this summer.

Beyond that, we're speaking to some people about how to develop a powerful back end for your business, offline strategies you can use to build your online business and how to market physical products within a digital products marketplace. We have all sorts of plans and opportunities.

I personally would like to hold an ongoing interview series with highly successful affiliates and pubishers and get them talking about how they got from where they were to where they are now. There's some amazing stories to be told. These could be really awesome telesminars and webinars.

We're out of the loop of all the standard issue solutions that some of the gurus get everybody all excited about. We like bringing in tactics and strategies that work well elsewhere and applying them in this market.

If CBU goes the direction it has the capability to do, we could make some absolutely amazing things happen.

Soon enough, we're going to have more things to put out there than we have capacity to deliver, but that's our problem, not yours.

So if you know some people who really are crushing their markets and making a name for them, have them contact me. I'm always looking for great content.

Does that give you a sense of where we're going?

Thanks...

Andy

That's what I thought when I saw this in the CB members area itself.

CB is crazy if they strick deals with their top affiliates to sell
their own products inside the CB members are itself.

They're too greedy or what?

I suspect this new service reveals most of the hype
and theory stuff that Chris's products already talk about.

So why buy it - for $77/month?

hint - greedy CB again... lol.

I don't think the 77 dollar a month price is going to significantly add to their bottom line. I think their intent may be to educate serious and motivated affiliates to make more sales which would then increase their bottom line in the long haul. 77 dollars a month per affiliate is peanuts compared to the secondary gains that they may get from having more affiliates who actually have a clue how to sell. Also, why assume that all of the $77 goes to Clickbank? Do you think the teachers volunteered their expertise for free?

MrBreakEven
November 13th, 2007, 06:35 AM
Yeah but $77 is a lot of money to new affiliates who want a bit of the action?

Almost a $1000 a year

The best merchants are the ones who have a dedicated affiliate section and always update it with new content and tips for making more sales, all the info they provide is free, the merchant does this because he knows that's it a win-win situation, both him and the affiliate will benefit from making more sales.

So I don't understand why clickbank are charging for this service which will only benefit everyone if it is successful including clickbank, I know that many people won't join because of the price including me, so they might be missing out on it's full potential??
