Hello, and I would like to hear your views on the ClickBank Refund policy.
I understand it's nice for a company to have one.

But personally, I think it's way to long.
I hate it how when people write their sales page, they always have to mention it's like 2 months.

It's almost like they encourage you to buy the product and then return it.
It bothers me you don't even have to supply a reason why you are returning it.

I was wondering, because of this "awesome" return policy, how many of your sales to into refunds?

Yeah, Clickbank refund policy sucks for the vendor. I could probably live with the length if the actual policy wasn't so easy to abuse. Like getting a refund without even giving a reason. Yeah, 60 days is pretty long. I've had customers that were shocked that it was so long.

If clickbank would allow me to say there is a 12 month return policy, I would do so.

The change to your conversion rate by adding a refund rate, and then a longer refund rate far outweights the cost of refunds.

Wow, that is just wrong.
Did you ever contact ClickBank?

.. there are so many flaws with that company.
I wish they would fix them..

I would, I have like OCD with things that don't work right or have flaws that really effect people, even if I could not fox everything, I will always be making things better and better..

it also has to do with some of clickbanks product being scammy. So to be not held responsible they have a long 60 days money back guarantee...

Meaning how can they be held liable of scamming someone when there is a 60 days no question asked money back guarantee? =)

I think a longer return policy is better. If you have a short return policy, people will want to read the book right away to decide if its good enough. You give them a longer return policy, and they forget about and don't bother asking for a refund.

I don't promote a lot of clickbank products, but I don't recall refunds being a problem. If they are, the sales page is probably misleading or the product low quality and you'd be better off finding a different product to promote.

Longer refund periods are usually believed to put people at ease, and therefore promote sales. From what I've seen most of my refunds come within the first week of the sale. So, I don't think the 60 day length significantly contributes to more refunds.

What I'd really like to know is why CB still holds their allowance (read hold) for 90 days when the refund period is 60 days?

60 days is also the normal time period that an individual has to claim a charge back with their debit card or credit card. I am sure this plays a role in clickbanks policy as NO ONE wants charge backs and the fees that are associated with them

Studies indicate that the longer the refund period, the lesser chances of refunds taking place.

The reason is because people tend to procrastinate or forget about it. They don't have the "urgency" to ask for a refund.

I think that a fair refund policy should be 30 - 45 Days.
