Well, it looks like the big G has succumbed to all of the capitalistic influences and forces that determine that it must make MORE profit!!!
You can now almost safely BUY the number one adword spot if you have the megabucks....where will this leave small affiliates??? Looking for even smaller niches I suspect.
Anyway, here is the link on what to do....

The sad thing is it might get even tougher for affiliates in the near future, but the good thing is that whenever there is a Google SLAP, there are always ways to SLAP Google back.

I never aim for the top spot, its conversion rate is usually poor.
Only the people with megabucks should be advertising in the top spot and they help subsidise all of us cleverer advertisiers who go for the better converting much cheaper positions lower down the page so good for them I say.

Why would you bite the hand that feeds you? Or are you a member of the 'I hate Google cos they're mean to me on purpose' club? You don't have a right to advertise on google, they run a business and how they do it is up to them and if your ads have been slapped because they were poor quality then you need to learn how to make better quality ads. It's very possible, I've only had 3 ad groups ever get google slapped.

My sites do really well in the natural/organic search results, but I am really beginning to resent the monopoly that Google has over the internet.

Good Grief. You should be thankful that google exists. It's the best search engine by miles and that's why it has dominance, but it's not a monopoly.
It's popular because it delivers a quality service and its users, your customers, keep coming back, if they didn't come back you'd have to find a new way to reach them.
Just think it through.

For now they do. However, what happens when someone with an even better idea comes along........I wonder.

Yes, you are correct. But there are many other search engines available and as a matter of fact, most of my search engine traffic comes from the smaller ones. But I rank well with Google also and they deliver some traffic as well. Anyway, that whole adsense/adwords/ppc thing they have going on - I consider it to be a monopoly. But those are just my thoughts.

When we make money, they make money, it's a sweet set up.
