Does anyone know, first hand, where a reliable place to buy banner ads would be. Cheap as well.

I use a banner exchange program right now, but man that's gonna take forever to build, so I'm considering buying them...

Why banners, well I market my poems and song lyrics via cheap advertising, but banners would suit this type of item well..I have some good attention grabbing headlines that I could use...

Any ideas out there :)
Thanks,
Barb

Do you know already it's worthy? I mean, that enough people click on it?
People are typically "Banner-Blind". When you put a banner in front of them, then they look so: ------> http://ewealth.com/images/smilies/new_confused.gif

Their eyes will spin around the banner, trying to avoid by all means to be forced to look at it. :D

I know what you're saying, they're usually garbage...
I've run a test banner ad on google, and on 54,000 impressions, I've received 256 clicks on the banner..costing me about 2 cents a click. (I just reduced it to .01)...I like to find something even cheaper...if there is such a thing...
Too expensive I thought, but at least I know it works...
These banner ads are to bring traffic to my poetry and song lyrics page(s) where people can subscribe...plus I've monetized the pages..anyway for these particular pages I thought banner advertising would make sense? is my thinking off on that?

Thanks!:)

Maybe not. :)

But 0,02 or 0,01 is really cheap!! Better than Adwords. Ok, not so targeted, so you have to see how much profit the visitors will bring you.

And the CTR...is about 0,5 %, better that I thought.

it's always the wondering and not knowing that often gets in the way with online marketing, so having a second opinion on something helps, thank you.

So, .01cents for a banner ad on google is ok to keep testing? alright I'll keep it going...but your right, I'll have to see what, if anything, I get from this...
yes, it's not targeted, so I'm not sure if it's money down the drain yet...I'll have to see...goodness knows, I've wasted so much on PPC with clickbank!, so this is a small investment compared to those mistakes I made. :)

Thanks :)
(I'de like to get banner ads for half of one penny, but man, does that baby even exist?)

Thanks again

How about banner exchanges? I have heard good things about them. But I have yet to hear what websites are the best to use for this purpose.

I imagine the best place to put a banner would be a highly targeted niche site that gets lots of traffic. That way you know who ever clicks your banner will be more interested in the product you’re selling.

The more successful banners are more multimedia from what I have read. They have sound, animation, etc... Something that stands out from the rest.

Have you tried VCM or Casale. I know that some banner ads where getting suce a high CTR from my site that I had to disable them ones as they were only earning me around $0.0035 per click, which was not much at all. There are others then that earn me around $0.10 - $0.30 CPM on average. So as you can see, it's also about the design of the banner.

My personal opinion on this is to start a blog.I do alot of writing myself and traffic exchanges or blogging and posting in relevant forums is the best way to get traffic for your poetry.

I haven't done any banner exchanges but if you use banners especially for poetry you're going to want to get laser targeted pin-point traffic because the general feeling I get is that people just aren't that into poetry.

Well, they are but you need to find those forums and those websites where people into poetry go and focus on that instead of general traffic you'll have way better luck that way.

Try myspace they have alot of poetry groups I'm sure. That would be another great route to go.
