As mentioned elsewhere, the big G UPPED my costs per kw as soon as a targetted search campaign I had been running and tweeking for a couple of weeks was hitting almost 6% CTR.

So, like the Mafia, seeing that there was some success and assuming that I was making money - they INCREASED the costs for my kws and automatically de-activated the successful keywords.

There is no way I will pay them more money as it goes outside my budget and the campaign will fail...even if I decide myself to stop it because of this.:punish:

Has this happened to anyone else...?

Smacks of typical Mafia or govt tactics which stifles the lifeblood of small business when they force costs to be increased via prtection money or "taxes". What follows is that the economy tanks - - - time to divest yourself of Google stocks if they keep up this CB style game !!!:mooning:

What is your quality score on your pages? Google usually up's the keyword prices when your quality score is low, no matter how good your CTR is. CTR is important to Google but they want to make sure your page is relevant to the keywords you're bidding on.
